Crushed (The Witch Game #1)

by K.C. Blake

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Published: July 13th 2011

Rating: 5 stars

The Noah sisters rule Titan High with their beauty, brains, and magical powers.

Each year they play a secret game: Crushed. The girls pick their targets carefully and blow enchanted dust into the boy’s faces, charming them, but this year Kristen makes a grave mistake. She chooses the wrong boy and almost dies that same day. Coincidence? Maybe.

But something isn’t quite right about Zach Bevian. He doesn’t behave like a boy who’s been Crushed. He goes from hot to cold, from looking at her with contempt to asking her out on a date. She doesn’t know what to think. Does he hate her or is he truly falling for her? Is he trying to kill her, or is he trying to save her?

MY REVIEW:

Oh my! Usually when I finish a book I have tons of things to say but this one just left me speechless!

Witches are not my favorite topic but this book looked appealing, I liked the description and decided to give it a shot!
Lucky me! Because it was totally awesome.

I would have loved a little more "Witch game", I mean, more playing between Kristen and Zach and with the other crushed boys but aside from that it was a very good book.

Original and well written, with no loose endings.

Kristen and Zach's stories are compelling and while they look one way on the surface, their personalities are very different and they are such complex characters :) The love part sometimes was a little cheesy but nevertheless, sweet and made me smile.

Morgan is perfectly developed, Britt and Cyndi are impeccable themselves, one is the careless, brave and grumpy sister while her twin is shy, caring and sweet. They make an ideal contrast and embellish the story. Grandma Noah is the coolest grandma on Earth! lol
Kristen is a complete heroine and you can see how she matures through the book.
Zach is just so *sigh* sexy! Hotter than hell.

"Zach stood off to the side of the basketball court, too cool to fight for the ball. They had split into two teams, skins against the shirts. Naturally he was on the team without shirts."

The only thing that disappoints me is that we don't get to read more about them because the next book is about absolutely different characters, anyway this author made a great job and I plan to keep reading her works :)
