Vampire twins - one wants to love you, the other wants your blood. A Werewolf - vows to protect you. Magic - stirs within you.

Imagine if Maggie Steifvater, Stephanie Meyer, and Laurell K. Hamilton sat down together to write a fast paced, steamy, paranormal romance full of thrilling twists and turns, featuring thirsty vampires and sexy werewolves.

That's Night Secrets, a suspenseful paranormal romance written by B.K. Walker, author of Dares And Dreams and Death Upon Me.

After Keira Crosby spends months mourning her parents' death, Jared, her best friend, is determined to get her out and moving on with her life. Night Secrets, a new club in town, has a grand opening bringing with it dark secrets of the night and magic within Keira she never knew she had.

For Corbin, Keira ignites his passion. For Dante', she ignites his thirst. It's up to Channing and his pack to keep her alive from the supernatural beings he hates most...Vampires. Night Secrets is a fast-paced, page turning paranormal romance with the perfect supernatural mix that you can't stop reading and will leave you aching for more.

My Thoughts:

3.75 stars

First of all, this book contains a few explicit sex scenes. Careful with the kids!

MIXED EMOTIONS PEOPLE! Most of them good, but here is my review :)

As you can see I liked it but didn't love it.
It is a very good book but can't place it next to stories I truly love, not because it doesn't have potential, on the contrary it  is a great story. I just felt it too short and for that, I sensed some lack of depth both in characters and story build up.  It's like everything happened so fast.

But at the same time this was good because I couldn't put this book down! I read it in a few hours!

It's very original and fast paced. I loved the fact that the author included twins, yay! It's my favorite way of making a combination of good and evil.
The characters seem interesting, they are diverse which I like a lot.

The author  brought up a wonderful and legendary figure such as "Morgan Le Fay" and blended it smoothly into the plot. That fact I LOVED!

Corbin is interesting, he is a bit eccentric but also charming. Jared was for sure my favorite character. I loved his sense of humour and the way he cherishes his friendship with Keara.
I'm looking forward to reading more of these two.

Two things BK: The aunt always speaking in that weird way! OMG! I wanted to punch her in the face -.-  and Keara needs to improve her sense in fashion ASAP! lol

Anyway, It is the beginning of a series (or so I hope because the end is a major cliffhanger!) so I am definitely placing my votes on B.K Walker.

Guest Post:

Character Theme Songs

People wonder about characters, and what they are like before they read a book. Here are the songs that I relate to my characters in the book.

Keara: Somebody Save Me by Remy Zero

Corbin: I Wear My Sunglasses At Night by Cory Hart because Corbin's always wearing sunglasses.

Channing: Call Me by Shinedown

Aingeal: Black Magic Woman by Santana

Jamison: Simple Man by Shinedown (originally by Lynard Skynard)

Jared: Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry

Dante': Bad Company by Five Finger Death Punch

Buddha: Wolves and Werewolves by The Pack A.D.

About the author:

Jack of all trades, master of none. BK Walker is first and foremost a mother and a wife. With three beautiful children and a wonderful husband, she enjoys her days living on their farm in Eastern Pennsylvania.

When she’s not writing, she manages her time organizing virtual book tours for other authors, coaching marketing strategies and helping her husband as a consultant in their jointly owned business. Putting most of her time into research, BK is always seeking for the most effective ways to market and promote books and business alike. Art is a secondary love, and you may often find her sketches popping up on one of her blogs, or simply catch her reading the magic created in the pages of a great novel. Who knows, it just may be yours.

  1. Thank you for hosting me , reviewing me, and I loved the review. I have to laugh that you wanted to punch Aunt Aingeal in the face, because at times I did too. When I say I write just like the characters talk in my head, I literally meant that. I'm so glad you're honest Rhomy :).

    1. Thank you BK, you are awesome! Good luck with the rest of the tour!

  2. Thanks so much for stopping in J.A. :)
