INTERVIEW:

1) When you aren’t writing, what are you doing?

I’m usually with friends, doing homework, or watching an action movie of some sort, and if there is a football match on TV, on all over that!

2) You chose a specific genre, a place and time to write about, what made you choose it?

I’ve always loved the fantasy world, and our era has so much story to tell, so I combined those things, and the stories I’ve heard, and voilà, we have Dominion.

3) In your opinion, what makes a book a great one?

When it has that one thing that makes all the other mistakes not matter. Even if you are not enjoying the book, but there’s that one thing you want to know the answers to, or can relate to, so you keep reading, that’s what make a story great, well to me that is.

4) Which author(s) most influenced your love of books from childhood?

I didn’t read a lot of books when I was a child, but some of the first stories I heard were from books our class teacher told, which were Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and Troy. I loved those stories so much, and would retell them to my friends just to put my own spin on them.

5) Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I put quotes on top of each chapter, that I think pretty much make the message in my book obvious, hopefully readers would read between the lines and make their own opinions about them.

6) Are the names of the characters in your novels important?

No not really, but when you search the names of the characters the meanings kind of make them seem important, and frankly, I didn’t even know that before I finished the book and decided to do some research, the only character whose name I knew the meaning to was Gideon, which meant destroyer.

7) Which of your characters is more similar to you?

Valoel, she is annoying, and I always hear I am annoying.

8) Worst habit you have?

Always want to be right, which I am most of the time. And screaming during a football match and waking the whole household in the middle of the night! And eating peanut butter from the jar.

9) How much research did you do before and during writing?

I did a lot, about the locations in the book, some angel information, some CIA, the army, and Interpol stuff. I searched for a lot of guns and their function, which my little brother thought was creepy. Well, he always thinks I’m creepy. Played a lot of action games, and watched tons of action movies.

10) If you were a super hero what would your kryptonite be?

Since I’ve always wanted to be superman, I think my kryptonite would be kryptonite! I’m that girl who always wanted to be superman! Never got the whole dolls and princess scenario, so superman was the next big thing for me.

11) If you could have a signed copy of any novel what would it be and why?

Harry Potter and Gates of Paradise.

12) Who would play you in a film of your life?

President Barack Obama. I know what you are thinking, aren’t you a girl? Yeah, I know I’m a girl. But, I have a dream, and Obama is kind of leaving that dream, just in a suit and tie, which I can pull off any day. I already have the tie, just waiting for the suit, and some heels.

13) What are the most important attributes to remaining sane as a writer?

Not running off the course of the story I’ve set out to write, and losing my vision in the process. I want to remind the way I am now, writing about things I love, and not things I’m supposed to write because everyone is.
