Meriwether Storm discovered the grisly remains of her parents when she was only fourteen—the result of a failed daemon summoning. Meri immediately swore vengeance on the daemon who'd killed her parents, but there was only one problem: she had no idea which one had committed the atrocity. Before their untimely deaths, her parents trained her intensively in the arts, which Meri used to follow in their footsteps, ever seeking the daemon's name. Now, despite her years of searching, she's no closer to the truth and her time is running out.

When a mysterious daemon named Azimuth offers Meri a deadly summoning in exchange for information about her parents’ murderer, she takes it immediately and without intimidation. What does worry her is her attraction to Azimuth: when he touches Meri, her pulse races and she breathlessly awaits the feel of his lips upon her skin. Meri knows she should keep him at arm's length, but her traitorous thoughts obsess over him night and day.

Blinded by her desperation for the truth and her desire for Azimuth, Meri places her trust in the creatures who are her sworn enemy, jeopardizing her need for vengeance. After Meri discovers there's more to the deal than the daemon cabal first promised, can she accept all they have to offer?

When retribution is the only thing that drives you, how much are you willing to sacrifice before you lose yourself to the cause?

My Thoughts:

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Sorry Candice for taking this long to read it!

What to say about "The Daemon Whisperer"? It is such a marvelous story!

It is original, it is nerve racking, heart stopping, jaw dropping and more, it is sexy, it is action packed, it's great.

So exciting!

Let me say that Candice Bundy did an amazing job creating a unique storyline and awesome characters that complemented each other.

The beginning is strong, it starts with a not so nice scene that includes vomit hehe but trust me, from page one it sucked me in and I knew it was going to be a page turner. Yes! from the first moment I was drawn to the story.

This book is settled in a future where people is aware of the existence of daemons and they hire summoners to contact them and this way, let's say ... daemons can make their dirty work.
Meri is one of those summoners, actually one of the best of them but the real story begins when she meets Azimuth (**sigh**)
Azimuth is a daemon... well sort of... (I don't want to spoil anything) and he offers Meriwether a job ...
There is where everything starts :)

Perhaps I would have liked a little more background on both of their lives but in any case, what motivates her actions is very clear.

She is bold, brave, tenacious, smart and funny. All that I love in a protagonist. Honestly, fighting for the "female protagonist 2013" award with Abby Sinclair (A Brush of Darkness by Allison Pang)

Azimuth is indeed an outstanding male protagonist, he is everything Meri is plus SEXY :D

Ok ladies, this is not Azimuth obviously, it's Ryan Guzman, but in my mind he kinda impersonates each of my book boyfriends lol.

There are many other characters that only add to the good quality of the writing such as Orias, he was absolutely funny!

The pace is perfect, everything developed fast but not for lack of detail, it was just easy flowing.
The dialogues are funny, witty and entertaining. The character's personality is in all of them.
Be aware, that there are hot scenes in this book.

One of my favorite quotes:

"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Getting dressed. Can't you see I'm still in my nightclothes? If I'm going to kill someone, I'm not gonna do it in my jammies"

Would I recommend it? Totally.

I hope you guys liked it!
Rhomy.
